Our guest-house Podhrad is an ideal place for your holiday especially if you love water sports, cycling, fishing or if you simply want to have a rest near  the Jesenice dam. The village of Podhrad, where  the guest-house is situated in the centre, is 5 km far from Cheb. It will take you only 10 minutes of walk to get to the Jesenice dam.

Our family guest-house offers accommodation in 2 separate rooms with own toilets and a shared little kitchen – dining room. There is another apartment with its own kitchen as well. The little housing capacity ensures privacy, peace and comfort for you. It is a non-smoking guest-house.

Recreational opportunities on the Jesenice dam

The Jesenice dam is the main destination of most visitors of our family guest-house. The Jesenice dam is the most sought-after water area in the Karlovy Vary region. It is popular especially for its clean water and universal utilization - surfing, swimming, fishing as well as for its good accessibility and attractive surroundings for tourists.

Touristic possibilities in the surroundings

Cheb (3 km) – a picturesque historical town with irresistible Špalíček and the house where Albrecht von Walenstein was killed (today‘s museum) on the main square.

Františkovy Lázně (11 km) – a romantic spa town with typical Secession café and spacious parks where Goethe, Adler or Beethoven used to go for their walks. There are 23 healing springs which are actively used.

Starý Hrozňatov (4 km) – in a near-by village, where you can comfortably walk to, there is a Romanic castle from the 11th century and a very popular and sought-after pilgrimage sightseeing place – the Loreta Chapel.

Another interesting places: monastery Teplá, castle Kynžvart, castle Vildštejn in Skalná, Chlum svaté Máří, the youngest middle-European volcano Komorní Hůrka, castle Libá, castle Mostov, castle Kamenný Dvůr, castle Seeberg, peatbog and moorland SOOS.
